A classic Valentine’s Day proposal in snowy Manhattan! There is nothing in the world that could have made this romantic holiday more memorable for these Londoners’ jaunt across the ocean. Did Olmsted and Vaux, the designers of Central Park, ever imagine that their world-class park would become the setting for so many joyous events like this? Ronan picked the Gapstow Bridge for his life-changing question.
However, it is not that simple! He had a cunning plan all along. He shared with his love over the 14 days leading up to Valentine’s Day like counting down. So romantic! Each day, he gave his sweetheart Olga a small, heart-inspired gift that was a symbol of their relationships and common life. Olga and Ronan met for first time on Boa Island, so Ronan prepared a big basket of tropical fruits for coffee that Valentine`s morning. He also bought a box of little Valentine cards like the cute ones we gave out in elementary school, and wrote one reason why he loves her, favorite shared memory, planted with memorable photos. Everything were covered with cards – pockets, purses, the refrigerator, cupboards, the dashboard. Finally, Olga found an empty photo frame and the last and biggest card on the dining room table that asked her to go on Gapstaw Bridge in Central Park where the life-changing decision had been made. Olga said “Yes!”
From there, happy lovers moved to the elegant Jean-Georges Restaurant at the edge of the park to celebrate their new life together. Surrounded by another atmosphere, Ronan and Olga presented another charming images, showing how diverse can they be. As a photographer, I was delighted a lot by their efforts, working on camera, and unbelievable shots of them. Despite another photographer in the background, Ronan and Olga only had eyes for each other, of course!
