Rooftop Proposal In NYC
What could be better for an NYC proposal than proposing on a rooftop with an iconic view?
There are many public rooftops in NYC, like the Empire State Building, Top of the Rock, Edge, Summit, and the WTC. The problem is that they are all very crowded. While you can still have a great proposal there, you’re going to have many people around you.
The best alternative is to propose on a private rooftop. I work with many rooftops and can book one for my clients.

You have total privacy, which is not possible anywhere else in a busy city. And you have one of the best views of the city. The Empire State Building is the most iconic and recognizable building in the world, and it makes the perfect backdrop for one of the most important moments in your life.
The Empire State Building view private rooftop is perfect for a marriage proposal. It is located on 5th Avenue, has direct elevator access, and allows a great variety of decorations. You can have something minimalistic and keep the attention on the gorgeous view, or you can have elaborate decor with giant letters, arches, sparkles, musicians, and still keep the view.
As a contingency for bad weather, it can also be combined with a penthouse located one floor below.
Downtown View Terrace

It’s the perfect location if you’re thinking about proposing in Downtown.
St. Patrick’s Cathedral View Private Garden
Prices start at $4,500 and include photography.
Check availabilitySt. Patrick’s Cathedral View Private Garden is one of the most luxurious ways to propose in NYC. There are no words needed to describe this place, photos say everything. It is only available to rent Monday through Thursday before 12 PM. While it already looks great without any decorations, a flower arch or large “Marry Me” letters look beautiful there.
We also have access to five additional rooftops, feel free to reach out for more information.
FAQ
The easiest way is to tell her you’re going to a speakeasy rooftop bar. We’ll meet you in front of the building and play along. When you arrive, we’ll ask for the name of your “reservation,” and then guide you upstairs. From her perspective, it will feel like you’re being taken to a speakeasy rooftop bar, until the surprise moment.
Most rooftops are located in commercial buildings. We’ll either meet you outside the building or provide clear, step by step instructions on how to get to the rooftop.
Each rooftop has different capacity limits. Most allow 10+ people, depending on the location. Feel free to reach out, and I’ll share the exact details for the rooftop you’re interested in.
Yes, not a problem. They can arrive earlier, and we’ll bring them up to the rooftop so they can be there waiting for you.
Yes, we can. We offer a wide range of decoration options, including large “Marry Me” letters, flower arches, candles, sparkles, lighting, and more. Everything can be customized based on your vision.
There are many different options depending on the location and setup. Prices typically start at $1,600 and can go up to $10,000 or more.
It depends on the rooftop, but in case of heavy rain, it’s usually possible to reschedule for another time. That said, I don’t always recommend rescheduling, rain can actually make the moment feel even more romantic. Some rooftops also have indoor areas or backup options. Reach out for details about a specific location.
I wouldn’t say there is one “best” rooftop, each location has something special about it. That said, one of my personal favorites is a private rooftop and penthouse with a direct view of the Empire State Building. It offers one of the most iconic views in the city and makes the moment feel even more special.
I personally recommend a private rooftop. Public rooftops can get very crowded, and decorations are usually not allowed. With a private rooftop, you have full control over everything, the setup, timing, and decorations, and it’s completely private, so there won’t be anyone else around during your proposal.
